Farima Raof is the recipient of the 2017 FPA Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Scholarship. This prestigious award recognizes Farima’s involvement in FPA, involvement in school and community activities, and her demonstrated sense of passion to the profession.
Farima is in her fourth year at the Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy (NSU COP), and currently serves as the APhA-ASP NSU Chapter Immediate Past President and also as the Chair of the Florida Pharmacy Association’s Student Affairs Council.
Farima has been extensively involved with the Florida Pharmacy Association, organizing and participating in multiple association events including FPA Legislative Days, Presidential Debates, Annual Meetings, and Council leadership duties. In recognition of her significant efforts to promote FPA membership, she was the first student ever to be inducted into FPA’s prestigious #1 Club.
Throughout her years at the NSU COP, Farima has held numerous leadership positions in professional pharmacy associations and student organizations including the Florida Pharmacy Association, Florida Pharmacy Foundation, American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, NSU’s President’s 64 elite student leadership group, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, and the Rho Chi Academic Honor Society. She has actively planned, organized, and participated in over 70 community events serving over 18,000 members of the community.
The Terry Gubbins Student Leadership award, established in 2014 by Terry Gubbins, former FPA Chairman of the Board, recognizes and celebrates outstanding leadership through school activities, public service and community as well as professional involvement.
The Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Scholarship is given once a year at the Florida Pharmacists Legislative Days where the recipient is recognized with a $1,000 check and an award..
