Honoring Excellence in Pharmacy
Each year, the Florida Pharmacy Foundation proudly recognizes outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact within the pharmacy profession. These awards celebrate the pharmacists, students, and pharmacy advocates whose work continues to advance health outcomes across the state of Florida.
Our awards program highlights excellence in service, leadership, mentorship, and community involvement and honors those who are shaping the future of pharmacy.
How Awards Work
Nominations
Awards require a nomination by a peer, professor, or supervisor. Some student awards may require faculty nomination and confirmation of achievements.
Criteria
Each award has a unique criteria, including leadership in pharmacy organizations, academic accomplishments, community engagement, or contributions to pharmacy practice.
Selection
Nominations are reviewed by the Foundation Board’s selection committee. Final decisions are announced publicly at the annual Foundation Celebration.

Student Awards
Hamilton, Harris & Hobbs Student Presidential Scholarship Award
The award recognizes and celebrates the outstanding leadership of an APhA-ASP Student Chapter President in the state of Florida. The student is presented with a $2,000 scholarship award.

Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Award
The Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Award recognizes a student with outstanding leadership qualities. The student must have demonstrated leadership through school activities, public service and community activities, as well as professional involvement.

Recognizes students with strong involvement in community service and exceptional academic standing.

Al Tower & Todd Schmidt Philanthropy Award
Presented to a pharmacist who exemplifies generosity and demonstrates outstanding commitment to philanthropy.

When Are
Awards Given
Award recipients are celebrated annually during the Foundation Celebration, which takes place at the Florida Pharmacy Association’s Annual Meeting. It is always a meaningful and uplifting moment recognizing and honoring the people who drive the profession forward. Students receiving scholarships and awards are provided complimentary registration to attend the FPA Annual meeting.
