Nichols Family Scholarship

Established in 2026, the Nichols Family Scholarship honors the Nichols Family’s longstanding dedication to the pharmacy profession, with five family members holding the esteemed position of pharmacist.

Rebecca Nichols Poston is a distinguished graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and holds a Master’s degree in Health Law from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. She has served as President of the Florida Pharmacy Association and Chair of the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Throughout her career in state government, she has held several roles, including Executive Director of the Florida Board of Pharmacy and the Drugs, Devices, and Cosmetics Program. Additionally, she served as the Staff Director for the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council and Program Manager for Florida’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a current student enrolled in one of the seven affiliated Florida pharmacy schools: Florida A&M University, University of Florida, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Nova Southeastern University, University of South Florida, LECOM, Larkin Health Sciences Institute.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrated excellence in academics, community service, and active involvement in professional or student pharmacy organizations.
  • Must have a current Student Pharmacist Membership in the FPA (Florida Pharmacy Association).

Award Details

  • One-time scholarship award of $1,500.
  • Funds may be used toward tuition, books, or other educational expenses.

Selection & Notification

  • Applications are reviewed by the Florida Pharmacy Foundation’s scholarship selection committee.
  • Recipients will be notified via email and announced on the Foundation’s official platforms.
  • Award is presented during a designated Foundation or Association event.

  • Submit a personal statement detailing your academic journey, leadership experiences, and service contributions.
